What Nino thought ernestly about Arashi's members...
We were always been together.
We were always serious without changing.
I think that is what "Arashi" is.
He kept singing all the while against the dazzling night view. You can see that his voice which is not too loud to hear, is wearing a passion on it. Even before talking with him, it had transmitted to us that how he is looking forward for their 10th anniversary tour starting after a few days.
"They are all specially coming to see after all, there's nothing blessing more than this. Concerts are solely, something like vegatables which we grow in our own kitchen garden. I am more than happy that it is seeked by people and getting spread around."
A new song "5 × 10" which is made for the 10th anniversary of the debut and a tour to suit it. Nino was the one who is in charce of lyrics.
"I just got mails from the other members and put them together. But I also thought about it a lot. Everytime I listen it, I made more discoveries, singing, looking at it, I wanted to make it something which will touch emotionally more and more. One of the phrases that I absolutely wanted to add was 'The five of us will be here, forever' part. I thought when we were standing at the stage and singing this, it would be very touching without a reason. We were always been 5 people and not 6, after all. (laugh)"
Surely, when Arashi gathers together, they are always together. Even between the interviews and shootings, they are together naturally.
"Since we spend nearly half of the year alone at works like drama or stage, we always speak when we got together, right? Especially since the Leader have a wide mind, its okay whenever you meddle with him (laugh) Although we only talk like "I went to yakiniku yesterday~". We also talked about work a long time ago. "What's the future of Arashi? What is group's color?" we even made a meeting seriously for this but I told "Isn't it not neccessary?" Even if we specially decide for it, it would only narrow our possibilities, and it is the the freedom of the recipient to decide how they will take it. I think we gradually noticed that we don't have to talk about it."
While staring at the photos of five of them lining up in a special feature of Arashi in More, last month, he laughed as he said "really, normal."
"Althought idols are okay to be a bit more flashy, the feeling of being rascal is zero (laugh) At work we are always serious and my pace, but there's also a creator-like air. I wonder we are together because we are alike... For example, Jun-kun seems like a person who stands in the front in the first glance, well it's actually like that but, it wouldn't be like that if he were to another group (laugh) When Jun-kun comes a step front, we also take a step forward too. Arashi continued moving forward like that."
Because they never change, they can make evolution which is not just on surface.
"We don't change, do we? We are getting affected from outside, and we are growing but our true nature haven't changed. Sho-kun's caster work too, is something that he always wanted to do which is just became a form. Leader's solo exhibition and Aiba-kun's varierty too, is something because we wanted to make a use of ourselves, I don't think it's an inner change. Because practically we never change, Arashi still building that kind of relationship. I haven't changed at all too. It's not like I can't change, I don't want to change. If I can't change, I am just getting old (laugh) Somewhere in my heart, I am definitely thinking, "not changing is awesome." Changing together with time is also an ability but I also feel disappointed changing because of the circumstances. I believe in 'evolution without change'. People are struggling to change both in work and love, because they want to move forward but I don't think it's unconditionally the correct answer. There's also 'unchanged strength' isn't it? Oda Kazumasa-san*, Southern**, and so on, because they are strong and they are not changing, they are unchangingly staying where they are, isn't it because they are evoluting which is not just surface... I think it takes time. Even when it is good or bad, I think it is a hard thing to believe in yourself and remain unchanged ... "
Even before Arashi had it's break like this, when he appeared in a Hollywood movie alone, or when he got many awards for his acting this year, Nino claimed himself as "A member of Arashi" with consistency. Certainly, he stayed there without changing.
"Because we think we haven't changed at all, even if you say, 'We can't get Arashi's tickets at all' now, it doesn't feel like a real thing at all. In the past it remained quite a lot though (laugh) Time is continuing to rotation but we have always been serious. Even when it was hopeless and we were clumsy, even when it was a small or big venue, we continued doing what we could do at that time seriously without changing. I think that is what Arashi is. I feel happiness from that many people find us, thinking 'what an idiot are they~' while watching over us... Concerts are where I realize this most."
On the first day of the tour a couple of days later, Nino was standing on the stage as usual together with five people. Be proud and make a good face.
